Great Things

One week down...the Lord only knows how many to go. My first week working for Wal-mart is officially complete and I'm about to enter my second. When I was not completely overwhelmed with all the new information I was learning and realizing I needed to learn, I was having a lot of fun on the job. My coworkers are hilarious and full of great stories. Never a dull moment at corporate Wal-mart. My second day of work I got lost downstairs in the building. Listen folks, this is no ordinary building. This place is huge. It a self-sustaining small city confined within colorful walls. I came in a different door than I did the first day, trying to be cool and fit in. Dumb. I spent the next 10 minutes trying to find the right stairwell to take to the second floor...actually I just spent 10 minutes trying to find a stairwell. I have a name badge so of course I was just trying to act natural about it all while continuing a fast walk just like everyone else. I finally found a stairwell and of course it took me to some random location on the second floor. The true adventure then began. I was in the middle of cubicle city...all looking the exact same. Luckily every one's desk has their name on it...unluckily I am but a tiny piece in the Wal-mart machine and therefore don't have a name over my desk yet....perfect. After 10 more minutes and a lot of "good mornings" I found my desk. HURRAHHHH!! Good news though, I got paid trying to find my desk!! Score!!

Great things have been happening since I've been back in Fayetteville...where God lives. Spent some great time rock climbing in beautiful country side and some good down time with friends. Life is good.

Well if you were unaware, a great day this year of our Lord 2010 was June 8th. Why you ask? Well for one, it was the day of my birth. But more importantly, Hanson released a new album. I know what you are thinking...."OOMBOM!!" And those are good thoughts. You should probably give this new cd a chance. Me suggesting that might take all accreditation away from this famous blog...but guess what...you can't lose something you didn't have. Therefore, song of the blog = Thinking Bout Somethin by Hanson off of their new album Shout it Out. Enjoy!! Choreography is pretty much amazing...along with overall theme of music video. Hanson, you never cease to amaze me.

Sleigh Bells - Tell 'Em

Another one bites the dust

Well this weekend, another one of my good friends jumped on the marriage band-wagon. What a looser right? Just kidding...marriage is cool. It was once again another weekend filled with tons of catching up with friends. My house doubled as a rest stop/halfway house/hotel/bath house. Notable people that stayed...groomzilla Mike Jacobs, Matt Nutt, Blanton Pullen, Cass "Wedding Crasher" Trumbo, Nathan Strayhorn, Luke "Presidential" Holland, Chris Wylie, Ben Rector, and last but not least BMFB. This talented young group of misfits, politicians, teachers, brilliant minds, and musicians dominated another wedding once again. Congrats Mike and Leah!!

Today has some what been an end of a certain chapter in my life. I have currently been living at home with my parents, enjoying my free time and slowly waiting for my first day of work. This past week, I completed the second drug test for my employer. Apparently my last one was out of date and Wal-mart was sure that I had begun to take drugs...just kidding. I was lucky enough (sarcasm) to get to take my drug test at an emergency clinic in a rougher part of Little Rock. It was quite a crowd there in the waiting room. Helping make the wait a little bit more enjoyable, the small tv in the corner had on People's Court...always good. I past my test with flying colors...somewhat yellow in nature.

Back to the ending of a chapter...

I am moving back up to Fayetteville to get officially settled in to my new apartment. I start work a week from this Monday. Current feelings about entering the real world = excitement, pre-game jitters, slight sadness, anticipation of possible adventure, and nostalgia. I'm about to leave behind my last normal form of summer. From here on out, no more summer breaks, no more spring breaks, no more Christmas breaks. At first this was a downer, but with thorough contemplation I am now at ease with this quickly approaching change of pace. Evenings will be completely mine, hopefully. No homework or tests to study for. This is a plus coming out of engineering college. There are many perks I'm sure that I will encounter with now entering the "real" world. For some reason though, I don't see it looking much like the famous MTV version of life. Leaving home for good is fairly strange though. Even though I've been away at college for four years, coming back and living with the rents has come fairly naturally. Its been fun...not going to lie. I love my parents and they are my heroes. I will definitely miss their company and care, but I have no doubt that they have prepared me for this next chapter of my life.

Current new chapter title ideas...."Get Rich or Die Tryin", "Mo Money Mo Problems", "Keepin up with the Cashions", "Beginning of the End...the Weekend That Is", and "Smoke Em if You Got Em." Let me know what you think.

Song of the post given above is:
