Oh Mercy Mercy Mercy

Let's be honest, it's just cooler when they do it. Probably one of my top favorite live performances...that I've seen through the not so live internet. It was live at some point okay?

Resolute This

A new year means making some amazing resolutions. And also miswriting the dates on a month's worth of checks. This year has big plans in store for me...I can feel it in my corporate shoes. I'm setting, what I feel like, worthwhile and achievable resolutions. Some of them are very relative and therefore achieving them will be very easy. Its when you start putting major goals in there like, "I want to write a 250 page fiction novel", things get a little bit difficult. But if you just set a resolution like, "I want to write a story", well shoot you can do that on a birthday card. Check that one off the list. So, here are my resolutions of '011. Is that how you write that? Oh eleven whoo!!

1) Work out 3 times a week - Everyone always says something about working out and loosing weight blah blah blah. I had to copy.
2) Run 8 miles a week - footnote to Resolution 1
3) Run a half marathon - Result of Resolution 1 and 2. See where I'm going with this? If you aren't doing anything important with your life on Sunday, March 6th, you should come to Little Rock and watch me run in the half marathon. I think my main competition this year will be Kenyans so it should be a pretty easy one. Now that I'm putting this on the internet and probably 2.5 people will read it, accountability has officially been established.
4) Have more fun at work - I enjoy work, don't get me wrong. But now I feel like I can start joking around with people more and making their lives happier. Nothing wrong with a little bit of laughter while dominating the world of retail. This will start by me reading my Dilbert calendar in the morning to anyone who cares to listen.
5) More outdoor adventures - nature is awesome and I like being out in it. Television is also awesome too. I need to make sure when the weather gets nice, nature wins out.
6) No carbonated beverages - blah this one sucks. I love me some Mountain Dew probably to my detriment. Got to preserve my chompers. Its hard to whistle without your front teeth and I love to whistle.
7) Take more pictures - this is two fold. Pictures are a great way to remember things. Pictures will spice up the blog. Your welcome.
8) Read more - smart people read I feel like. I want to be smart.
9) Write more - cool people write I feel like. I want to be cool.
10) Take a road trip just for a concert - this needs no explanation. This will be a memorable weekend I guarantee.

So, they are out there. I might add onto them as the year progresses, but this is what I'm starting with. I feel like they are very achievable and bland. Perfect. That just means that I'll have to figure out exciting ways to spice them up. I encourage each of you to make resolutions this year and write them down. It's fun and it's a perfect conversation starter when you are sitting next to that stranger on the Greyhound or subway car or tandom bicycle. Remember, if you aim too high you might kill a protected bird...if you aim too low you might kill a dog...if you aim straight ahead you might kill a human...so change phasars to stun and go for it.
