Chris Tomlin - I Will Rise (Live)
Things change so fast when you let God take control. Its an amazing, crazy, yet comforting ride that I would hate to miss out on. All you can do is hold on and enjoy.

A valley far far away
Paths through woods to anywhere puts life into perspective for me.
The Valley of Dreams...I don't think that's what its called but I think its catchy.
Joey and Scott...Scott on the left, half naked. Joey on the right, in a wife-beater. Men being men. Girls won't understand this picture.
Mom, told you I didn't put my legs over the edge. I don't lie to you. Love you :)
Go out and enjoy the beauty around you before the man takes it over like Fern Gulley or Pandora or any other sad movie where weird creatures loose their homes due to some mean man with a bulldozer.
Song of the blog...one of my favorites right now...well everything that I post is one of my favorites so thats kinda irrelevant..."Your love is a Song" by Switchfoot.

Something Beautiful...
Do you ever find yourself apologizing entirely too much. I mean, a good apology is needed every now and then, but the word "sorry" really looses its punch when its repeated over and over like a broken Akon record. Thought I'd share...enough life lessons.
The past couple of weekends, myself and friends have been embarking on numerous outdoor adventures around the great area we live. I can't tell you where I live or I'll be stalked and hunted down due to the major fame that I've accumulated over the past months with this blog...safety first. Short detour...so there have been all these stories about girls getting kidnapped and abducted and rapped and other bad things due to posting too much information on facebook or twitter. People are getting mad at facebook for divulging too much personal information. Well people, maybe we should analyze the situation a little bit deeper. If you (young girl) post on twitter, "Going running, on this trail, at this time, blah blah blah, won't have mace on me, blah blah blah..." you are just asking for trouble. I'm sorry (not sorry), but that's dumb. Its terrible that we can't be that open with people but its the world we live in. I'm thinking about taking up a new hobby...trying to find if I have any stalkers. I'm going to start posting very descriptive activities of what I'm about to do and see if anyone secretly shows up to "run" into me. What they don't know, is that I'll be hiding in the bushes waiting to jump out and take a Polaroid picture of their reaction. Why a Polaroid you say? So they can have an immediate souvenir, and I think its one of man's greatest achievements...that and the microwave. So that short detour turned into a 3 hour roadblock...sorry (not sorry).
Where was I...oh yes...crazy adventures of the grown, boring, working stiff. This past weekend we went to a cool little swimming hole in the middle of nowhere. I would tell you where it was but I don't really know and its a secret...
Bazillions of years of water flow
Coming up on the swimming hole and waterfalls. The river actually goes under ground from here and comes back up about 1/2 mile down the dry river bed.
Nothing better...
Its recently been a good couple of weeks for music in my life. This is blog's song does great things for my heart. Hope you enjoy."The Outsiders" by Needtobreathe

Opposite of Adults by Chiddy Bang
I want to be the opposite of an adult these days. When you are five years old, you don't realize how great life is. I spent $30 on vitamins today. That's awesome right?

Woa...Pictures
A little kitten was following me to my car. I named him Sam Walton.
This post's music selection is actually a double...two for the price of one...you can consider it a gift and write it off on your taxes or something. This band just so happened to be passing through Fayetteville on Friday and I just so happened to see them live. They are happy mix of rock, blues, and soul all wrapped into a goofy bunch of head bangers from Omaha, NE. If you ever hear of this band coming through your town, I definitely recommend seeing them. Its a great time!! Videos by The Kris Lager Band...

What a week...
Took a bike ride on the Fayetteville trail the other night around 8:30pm...bad idea. The demographics of people that frequent the bike trail during the day as opposed to the evening hours is completely different...like night and day...sorry that was bad. Anyways, if you are looking for a way to increase your bike riding speed unconsciously, night riding could be the thing for you. I think I was pedaling as fast as my little legs could possibly go for about an hour. At one point of my adventure, I came up on a nice, portly, grungy, man with his hand around his belt. It appeared that he was pulling something out of his pants...well at least in my mind it looked like. I figured, great, he's got a knife. The only thing I had on this guy was the element of surprise and speed. So I tried pedalling even faster and went for the pass. As I'm passing, he acts like he is going to run at me but then stops and just smiles with one of those creepy smiles, like, "I'll see you next time on the trail." I basically cried myself home from that point. I thought it couldn't hurt the situation. Great times...stay classy Fayetteville. I love the bike trail. Its ingenious. A sustainable trail through the middle of town from one end to another. One minor flaw...it goes through the most sketchy areas in Fayetteville...warms the heart every time I'm on it. I digress.
Today...big news...attended a turkey kill plant for work.
You might be thinking, "what's a turkey kill plant?" Well lets break it down one word at a time. "Turkey": a large avian creature that produces meat which can be a healthier substitute for its four legged friend...the cow. In nature, they are quite beautiful when feathers are extended. In the production world, they are big, white, round, and can barely walk. "Kill": this is pretty self-explanatory; The End. "Plant": produces Oxygen...or in this case...boxes of edible turkey meat
Now that that's over, I attended my first plant visit and boy was it a way to start. A turkey kill plant operates so that live turkeys enter one door and leave out the back in a box, wrapped, and labeled in about 4 hours. Never have I seen more people waving knifes around and wearing hairnets. It was amazing! If a fight broke out in this place, without a doubt, everyone in the whole place would be cut to little bitty pieces. And then probably turned into meat for hotdogs....mmhhmmmm...Of course, since this is a "kill" plant, we had to see the "kill" process. Well folks, its not fun, not pretty and terribly stinky. I'm going to leave it at that. Just go to bed tonight and be thankful for what you have and that you don't have to be in that room everyday *STEPS OFF SOAP BOX* On the whole, the visit was awesome. We were treated like super stars and ate some great country cooking from a local establishment. Great day...Great Week

Great Things
Great things have been happening since I've been back in Fayetteville...where God lives. Spent some great time rock climbing in beautiful country side and some good down time with friends. Life is good.
Well if you were unaware, a great day this year of our Lord 2010 was June 8th. Why you ask? Well for one, it was the day of my birth. But more importantly, Hanson released a new album. I know what you are thinking...."OOMBOM!!" And those are good thoughts. You should probably give this new cd a chance. Me suggesting that might take all accreditation away from this famous blog...but guess what...you can't lose something you didn't have. Therefore, song of the blog = Thinking Bout Somethin by Hanson off of their new album Shout it Out. Enjoy!! Choreography is pretty much amazing...along with overall theme of music video. Hanson, you never cease to amaze me.

Another one bites the dust
Today has some what been an end of a certain chapter in my life. I have currently been living at home with my parents, enjoying my free time and slowly waiting for my first day of work. This past week, I completed the second drug test for my employer. Apparently my last one was out of date and Wal-mart was sure that I had begun to take drugs...just kidding. I was lucky enough (sarcasm) to get to take my drug test at an emergency clinic in a rougher part of Little Rock. It was quite a crowd there in the waiting room. Helping make the wait a little bit more enjoyable, the small tv in the corner had on People's Court...always good. I past my test with flying colors...somewhat yellow in nature.
Back to the ending of a chapter...
I am moving back up to Fayetteville to get officially settled in to my new apartment. I start work a week from this Monday. Current feelings about entering the real world = excitement, pre-game jitters, slight sadness, anticipation of possible adventure, and nostalgia. I'm about to leave behind my last normal form of summer. From here on out, no more summer breaks, no more spring breaks, no more Christmas breaks. At first this was a downer, but with thorough contemplation I am now at ease with this quickly approaching change of pace. Evenings will be completely mine, hopefully. No homework or tests to study for. This is a plus coming out of engineering college. There are many perks I'm sure that I will encounter with now entering the "real" world. For some reason though, I don't see it looking much like the famous MTV version of life. Leaving home for good is fairly strange though. Even though I've been away at college for four years, coming back and living with the rents has come fairly naturally. Its been fun...not going to lie. I love my parents and they are my heroes. I will definitely miss their company and care, but I have no doubt that they have prepared me for this next chapter of my life.
Current new chapter title ideas...."Get Rich or Die Tryin", "Mo Money Mo Problems", "Keepin up with the Cashions", "Beginning of the End...the Weekend That Is", and "Smoke Em if You Got Em." Let me know what you think.

Marriage and Vehicular Manslaughter
1) Bachelor parties normally occur before weddings. Being single is a mute point.
2) Food...free food at that. Rehearsal dinner. Wedding breakfast. Wedding brunch. Snacks at wedding during pictures. Reception food. Enough said.
3) The best and possibly only time to request "Pour Some Sugar on Me" at the reception.
4) Bridesmaids feel obligated to be nice to you because you are in the wedding too...its like a team.
5) Wedding Cake...this needs no explanations. If you don't like wedding cake, you don't like life or dolphins or little sea otters or heaven on earth. Everyone likes wedding cake.
Congratulations Mark and Taylor!! I'm very happy for your marriage. You will probably never read this but I wrote it and therefore I feel good.
So you might be wondering as to what the second portion of this entry's title means, "Vehicular Manslaughter." Well I would joyfully like to explain. Basically, the reason that I felt the urge to blog was from my little encounter about 5 minutes ago on my way home from the grocery store with my loving, sweet, small mother. (Insert awwww). Side note: When you go to the grocery store around 3:30pm, at least in West Little Rock, it is a very strange occurance. I was keeping track of how many men there were in the store under the age of 50. I counted 2. One of them was myself. The rest are mothers, grandmothers, grandfathers, soccer moms, workout moms, stressed out moms, wrestling candy away from their children moms. I felt very out of place and somewhat protective of all these women. I felt like the man of the house...in super market form. If something heavy was to be picked up it was basically my responsibility. I was the only young man there. Did I like this new responsibility? Yes I did. I felt cool. I felt productive (mainly because I hadn't been out of the house yet today and it was 3:30pm). I felt like the school teacher during World War I when all the other men were at war. Ok thats a stretch but it was strange. Somewhat overwhelming at first, but you kinda get use to it. Anyways, back to vehicular manslaughter....There has been some new road work occuring on Chenal Parkway right by Kroger. A portion of the road is closed and you must take a detour on a newly built road. I'm sitting at the stop light, trying to cross Chenal Parkway to embark on my detour. The car in front of me chooses to try and turn left onto the closed road. After realizing their idiotic mistake, they decided that their best option at that point was to drive on the left side of the detour road. Great decision. As they crest the hill, enter moving truck. After a moment of sheer panic on my part, both cars come to a safe stop. Too bad the car behind the moving truck didn't. Wham...see ya later front bumper. Did I stop...no...[Rule #1: every man for himself on the detour.] This isn't your ordinary detour though. This detour has a legit, purpose serving, "round-a-bout." As I approach the round-a-bout, already clogged with bewildered detourers, I can tell this is going to be disastorous. [Rule #2: Be brave in round-a-bouts, but not too brave. Keep your head on a swivel.] As I enter this round-a-bout which is massive, two lanes entering and exiting in all directions, I see a car swerve behind me, cutting off the car which was previously behind me. No worries, press on. However, I continue to watch as that car is T-Boned by a car entering the circle of death who clearly thought they didn't have to yield. That will teach that person to not cut someone off again I guess. Did I stop...no...[Rule #3: When you witness 2 wrecks in less than 2 minutes...drive faster...eyes forward...hands at 10 and 2...you are now in full fledge traffic terrorism.]
Disclaimer: Even though I only have 2 followers, I'm still going to write as if I'm writing to the whole country of China...except in English. It makes me feel better. Nevertheless, I'm continuing my efforts on brainstorming ideas to increase my follower count. I will continue the music recommendations as well as open the line for the suggestions. I'm also contemplating games, trivia, and prizes. Be looking for those coming soon.
Disclaimer to the Disclaimer: I realize that the "Disclaimer" should normally come at the beginning of a blog but that doesn't lend well for double disclaimers now does it?

Great Day
Since I don't take a lot of pictures to help document my life and fill up this textual boringness which is my blog, I try to liven things up music. I love music. If my computer were to die, or get run over, or stolen, or smashed in a trash compactor, my heart could possibly stop beating or maybe I would just be in a bad mood. Nevertheless, MercyMe has come out with a new cd entitled "Lovewell." I'm addicted to this song from the cd. Hope you enjoy. And don't worry, I will try to bring more life to this blog, but I mean, I've been gone for so long, any little bit of blogging should have your interests at full peak...all of two of my followers. Thanks my loving sister and the wonderful Johanna.
Couldn't find an official video of the song so this will have to do.
Woa...Guess who's back?
Yes it has definitely been a very long time since I've blogged or even looked at my blog in forever. My deepest apologies. From the last time I blogged, I have received and accepted a job working for Wal-mart corporate, finished my 65 page senior honors thesis, completed my Senior Design project, conquered college, graduated, returned home to Little Rock, gone to Destin for my best friend's bachelor party, caught fish, and returned back again to Little Rock. Hopefully now you feel caught up in my life. I'm sure I skipped a couple of things but as this blog progresses, I'll fill you in a needed details.
I have a rejuvenated since of Arkansas proud. I love the south. I love the heat. I love miles and miles of fields filled with crops. I love small town America. Resume cliche country music video to summarize love of Arkansas.

Bad Nostril Day
You would assume that the end is near for me! Oh on the contrary, the fight has just begun against this slimy sickness. I have recently taken 1200mg of Mucinex D. Basically, I will be like a disgusting faucet the rest of the day as all my bodily fluids somehow exit my body through my poor, raw nostrils. What a strange thing the human body is. Today is going to be a rough nostril day. Please don't judge.

Valentine's Day...at Last...We've Missed You
Since its currently the 15th at the time of this blog entry, I hope everyone did something creative. Don't be lame and just go to dinner and then watch a movie or something. Do something crazy. Like, get her a horse that you've painted red. Instead of getting her balloons, take a hot air balloon ride. Tattoo her face on your back. I'm obviously being facetious. But really, I hope the day of love and flowers and candy went well for all you. I sent all my crushes flowers today so if you received flowers from Bob the Builder...that was me. You're Welcome!
I leave you with a little goodie that you should probably put in your music goodie basket. Perfect for valentines day I think. This is "Publish My Love" from one of my new favorite bands Rogue Wave. Enjoy! P.S. The video is a little strange. Just close your eyes and listen to the song, or put your head under your desk. Either one.

I love music. Maybe I'll critique music. I like the outdoors, maybe I'll be all "green" and environmental. Most likely, I'll just babble on about strange things I've been thinking about and maybe someone will think its funny or get something meaningful out of it. I love Christ. I'll probably write about that too. But anyways, don't get your hopes up. Set your standards low for this blog...I want you to be surprised, maybe.
